Two Bottles From La Chablisienne

couple of months ago I had the opportunity to taste through a range of wines from the cooperative La Chablisienne. The last week I have drunk two more bottles from them, one new for me and the other a new vintage of a wine tasted at that luncheon.

2008 Chablis Les Vénérables Vieilles Vignes, La Chablisienne
A pure, fresh nose with a hint of maturity and notes of grass, white currants, dried summer flowers and lots of rocks and gravel. Not that deep but finely tuned.
The taste is fresh and a touch salty with nice white fruit, a fine acidity and a medium long finish that ends dry and refreshing. With a perfectly fried loach, cooked vegetables and a white wine sauce with lime peel, it behaved great.

2011 Chablis 1er Cru La Singulière, La Chablisienne
The 2011 vintage of this 1er Cru is better than the 2010 tasted at the lunch mention above. The nose is young, perky and upfront with notes of lemon peel, lemon cream, oyster shells, candle grease, chalk and a touch of ginger. Medium deep. Very young, this could evolve well.
The taste is young, tight and fresh with notes of lemon peel, just ripe yellow pears, dry fudge and lots of chalk. The finish is medium long. A very fine acidity, which was lacking in the 2010. Really good. A bargain for 18 Euro.
