A Great New Zealand Pinot!

Haven´t tried anything from Ata Rangi before so I looked forward to uncork, well unscrew the top of this one. And my expectations were met - the best Pinot I have tasted fron New Zealand except for Escarpments Moana and Kupe and one or two Felton Roads.

2009 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir
A deep, fine, warm nose with notes of strawberrys, rasberries, a lovely touch of forest smoke and lots of sweet dark fudge. A lot of sweetness but not overly soo. Very good structure on the nose. And so yummy!
The taste is like drinking velvet, with beautiful sweet red fruit - sweet lingonberries, rasberries and red cherries, cool, sandy tannins and a refreshing acidity that makes the mouth salivating. Long and fresh. This is great stuff!
