Drinking tonight

With a nice steak, some fried potatoes and a madeira sauce, a classic Bordeaux worked well. Not a blockbuster, not a well known name, not expensive, but very drinkable a friday evening.

2007 Château Reysson, Haut-Medoc
A fine, pure, classic nose with the notes you suppose to find, and longing for - sweet black currants, gravel, leather and some tobacco. Cool and fine, althought it is somewhat reserved. A touch of vanilla oak. Very good.
The taste feels younger than the nose, with more red than black currants, cool tannins and a long, fresh finish. Would benefit from 3-5 years cellaring. The finish is a touch angular. Good though. And it complimated the steak with grace.
85p   (tasted 2011/11)

And tomorrow there will some , hopefully, stunning wines - stay tuned! :-)
