The 2017 Rosé Season Has Started!

One of the first signs of spring - the rosé wines start to pop up. Vingruppen invited and I tasted through the 2017 sortiment.
33 wines poured and to make things simple I´ll put them in points bracket below, except for the Champagne´s which I comment on.

2015 Sancerre Rosé, Pierre Deschamps
2016 Larrosa, Izadi

Below 80p:
2015 Terres Fumèes Rosé, Lurton
NV Sommartider Rosé, The Per Gessle Collection

The Rosé Champagne´s:
2011 Brut Rosé, Louis Roederer
This behaved much better than a couple of months ago, with more intensity, ripe red fruit and structure.
91p   (tasted 2017/04)

NV Rosé Albane, Pierre Péters
Again, very much better than tasted almost a year ago. This is a whole other creature with finesse, smoke, nuts, blood grape and a lovely playfullness.
91p   (tasted 2017/04)

NV Rosé No 9, André Clouet
A seedy, upfront, young nose with notes of wild raspberries, beet roots, forest floor and a hint of coffee. Very, very good.
The taste is tight and concentrated with notes of gravel, raspberries, hard cherry candy and cold coffee, Long and distinct. Great wine. 100% Pinot Noir.
93p   (tasted 2017/04)

NV Cuvée The Convincer, The Per Gessle Selection
A whole other ballgame than the sub par rosé Sommartider (see above). It sports a elegant, fresh nose with notes of ripe oranges, dry fudge, summer flowers and gravel.
The taste is juicy and fresh with notes of dark bread, oranges, grass and minerals. A fine acidity. 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir. I´m convinced.
90p   (tasted 2017/04)

NV Grand Cru Brut Rosé, Egly-Ouriet
A deep, creamy nose with notes of smoke, red cherries, toasted bread and smoke. Deep and refined. Very, very good.
The taste is young and seedy with notes of smoke, hard cherry candy, forest floor and minerals. Some iron in the long finish. Really fine.
92p   (tasted 2017/04)
