After Reading A Book - Three Bottles Of Saint-Joseph

It is very nice when a old, jaded wino like myself can be so engaged when reading a book that I immediately order a couple of bottles and eagerly looking forward to pulling some corks, sniffing and drinking.
The book is "Vin med adress" by Alf Tumble. Highly recommended!

The chapter about Saint-Joseph in particular got my taste buds drooling. Some clicks on my computer and these bottles got opened during the last couple of days with some grilled meat and chicken in the gorgeous Swedish pre summer weather.

2013 Saint-Joseph, Equis
A young, upfront, inky nose with fine notes of damson, blueberries, bakelite and freshly sawn fir. Very, very good. A very fine warmth.
The taste is young, tight and peppery with notes of ripe blueberries, smoke, asphalt and violets. Some sturdy tannins in the long finish. A good grip. Very fine today but even better in 3-5 years time.

2013 Saint-Joseph Clos du Cuminaille, Pierre Gaillard
Gaillard have produced a wine that shows a nice concentration and notes of forest floor, blueberries, road dust and granite. A bit restrained. Very, very good.
The taste is linear and focused with notes of cool blackberries, gravel, violets and some dark chocolate. Gulpable even though its very primary. Should evolve nicely with 2-4 years in the cellar.

2014 Saint-Joseph, Pierre Gonon
A very young, fresh nose with notes of black pepper sausages, celery, blueberries and ash. Very interesting and complex. Some rosehip aromas after a while. This is gooood.
The taste is young, tight and peppery with notes of ripening cherries, bakelite, violets and some tobacco notes. A long finish with nicely polished tannins. Delicious today, and even more so 4-6 years along the line.
